Sonoma & Surrounding Communities

The Sonoma Valley stretches approximately 18 miles, from San Pablo to Kenwood including the City of Sonoma, Glen Ellen, Vineburg, Schellville and Kenwood. The City of Sonoma is located at the southern end and a beautiful 45 minute (approx) drive to San Francisco. The Valley is surrounded by amazing mountain ranges - to the east, the Mayacamas and to the west, the Sonoma Mountain Range offering spectacular views from just about any direction.

City of Sonoma - population 9,284 - is the most densley populated area of the Valley. The 8 acre Town Square is the highlight of the downtown area and is surrounded by wonderful restaurants, cafes, art galleries and many other fine shops. The city's significant history is apparent on every corner and definitley worth learning about (click on SV History tab).

 Glen Ellen - is located at the base of Sonoma Mountain, just a few miles north of The Springs, about 8 miles from downtown Sonoma and home to Jack London Historic State Park. Back in the day Glen Ellen was an energetic little community boasting two train lines, several hotels, saloons and such. The historical remnants remaining throughout the town contribute to the unique charm of the community.

Kenwood - is located at the North end of the valley and boasts small town ambiance. It is best known for its several large wineries and gorgeous hillside vineyards
